Not quite,
this silly DVD copy protection works by inserting a vertical sync
pulse every scanline rather then every frame.
TV's dont actually pay any attention to the vertical sync as they lock
automatically, but most VCR's rely on it to sync the recording head,
so if its being told to start a new frame every scanline it'll either
only record the first few lines of constantly lose sync (I've tried
;)
As for video grabbers, they should be ok as they dont need complex
timing like VCR's, but that doesn't mean it'll definatly work
Of course, if you want to make decent DVD rips then you probably wont
have much like on an Amiga, get a PC with a DVD drive to rip them
directly (although I'm sure that's not the reason you're getting a
video grabber is it? :)
See ya :)
