Yeah, I was heartened to see how many comments at SlashDot
were "I remember the Amiga - it was great because..." and
"Wow! Let's hope this is decent PPC competition for Apple -
good luck" kinds.
2 things that sprang to my brain:
"AmigaOS 4.0, which will only run on the Eyetech AmigaOne",
hmmm, what exactly will run on the Merlancia/bplan boxes then?
Is this true for 4.2 (cool, that rhymes).
Also, going back to comments from now-non-Amigans. Seems
people are keen to see the AmigaOne. BUT, it doesn't seem that
they realise you will need an A1200 m/b at first. This in my opinion
will look bad, bad, bad. I think Amiga/Eyetech should perhaps
consider upping the importance of providing an "AGA card" for
release AT THE SAME TIME as AmigaOne? If the initial product gets
tarred with a rather large and smelly brush this may stick despite
later versions of the OS/hardware being RTG.
As for Series Zero, I hope the games are horrendously addictive,
because they certainly looked like a load of balls. (Joke)
