Not sure if I can help since I only ever had two problems. The first
concerned my seedy-rom the second however sounds similar. I fitted a
10GB hard drive and 4xeide.driver wouldn't recognise the second channel
when the drive was plugged into the first with the jumpers set to single.
And it wouldn't recognise the first channel when plugged into the second
channel with the jumpers set to single (It wouldn't even recognise the
drive
if the jumpers were not set to single). The only solution that worked
was to connect my 10GB hdd to the first channel with jumpers set to single
and my seedy-rom to the second channel as master and everything works fine
