The need for buffers has been mentioned in previous CD writing articles.
Itr's a trade off between making each piece self-contained and repeating
information over and over.

I'd say it's a decent minimum, more would help.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to test on all hardware configurations,
because they aren't all available. There wasn't a Power Flyer to test
on. If Power want to let me have a Power Flyer on permanent loan, it
would get good publicity in situation like this.

With CD writers, the price is often quite similar. IDE and SCSI writers
use the same command set, so only the actual interface is different. The
rest of the controller gubbins is the same.
