The kernel loads the relevant modules. The size of the kernel isn't
really relevant. Does it really matter whether it's 300KB or 1MB when
most PCs running Amithlon will have at least 128MB of RAM?

However much it loads, it's going to leave a hell of a lot more
resources for the emulator than a full load of Windows would.
