Which you were very right in pointing out as I mentioned in that first mail,
I just thought the review was a bit more geared towards the lowest spec
possible rather than possible potential given a better than standard
A1200/A4000/near future AONE IDE solution. Although I do appreciate you can
only test on available equipment.
But you've already replied to that.

Yeah, how many Amiga users actually even bother to check the rpm... ;-(

Agreed, just like hard drive capacity.

To bring up a point you make further down, this is where the test on the PC
helps. It shows the drive is very capable and indeed is a "good" piece of
equipment - just unfortunately the standard IDE interface cannot handle the
speed available. Everything you wrote in the review seemed (to me the
novice) as true and accurate, but the "tone" just sounded very anti
A1200/A4000 IDE, rather than pro/ anti PlexWriter.

I did a search on a couple of PC retailer websites and could find any
reference to Plextor, is this why?

Forgive me, but that was the impression I got from my interpretation of the
"tone" too. I certainly dont think it would encourage Plextor to place an
advert in AA for example, not necessarily for this unit but Plextor products
as a whole, even though it is a good piece of kit, which was part of the
angle of my original post, linking to David's column.
Right that's it, no more from me :-)
