I have a 35mm SLR camera as well and to be truthful, there's not much
difference between what the DC215 and printer produce against the SLR and
boots processing! On it's highest quality setting the DC215 is fine, it's
pictures print out as good as the SLR.
Most of my pictures, however, end up on cd's for friends to view on their
computers. This means that high quality hi-res pictures merely come out
massive on a computer screen! I'd hate to think how big they'd be if taken
on a camera with 20megapixies (daughter's word).
I guess the real difference comes plain when you try to blow up a portion of
a picture? A picture on a one meg camera would become grainy quicker?
My only complaint with the DC215 is that it's a snap camera! Auto focus auto
everything! Try taking a picture of something moving and you get a nice
background and a blurred subject, still, unlike an SLR you can just delete
it!
The DC215 does it's job well and if I need moving pictures........I'll just
use the new JVC digital video camera! <ggg>
