The problem with the Zenit is the very rough shutter button, which
almost guarantees camera shake. Compare a camera such as the Olympus
OM-1 from around the same time. Otherwise it was a good bargain.
Fortunately, cameras don't become obsolete like computers, unless you go
back so far in time that the lenses aren't coated, which is around 65
years ago.
