And the sad thing is that it'll be deemed obsolete by August 28th when
Intel ship their 2GHz P4's (with AMD hacking out some more MHz to keep
the dumb MHzhappy users, err, happy).

200 quid? It depends what you mean by useable, personally I'd say all
you need is an A1200 (100 quid), a hard drive (50) and an A1230 with
16Mb memory (50). It's not uncommon to get more kit for less than that
too.
Not that I'd use anything less than my 060 ;)

Add the price of a current PPC card and BVision (I'm basing this on
the fact that Activision nearly wet themselves when Hyperion showed
them Heretic 2 running on the Amiga at the same speed as a P2-450)
which would be about 650GBP new. OK, so the prices are similar, but
the prices would have been similar if this situation was a few years
ago and you were buying a P2-450 machine for your 1140GBP.

Most people here probably do, it's hardly a newsworthy thing that
needs a thread to itself, unless of course you're asking where you can
get Amithlon/WinUAE/etc for so that you can upgrade your PC to an
Amiga ;)
