Because I don't expect that every single Mediator owner wants to install a
serial/parallel card in their machine. Reading the amiga-mediator list
during the elbox/hyperion dispute period, I got the impression that
existing users would rather pay for what they use, rather than pay for
stuff they might not. The problem with any of these companies going into
any deal such as a royalty deal is that it either will cut Elbox's profits,
or force the price of the board up. I'd rather allow users to chose for
themselves. In the case of the Warp3D drivers, I'd say that the royalty
arrangement isn't too bad for Elbox customers, because a good majority of
Voodoo owners will make use of them. Same goes for Matay and DCE customers.
