ah! but the serial port is fine under AmigaOS, almost all decent apps are
coded to use another device for serial, its an API. however there exists
no 'usb.library' for the Amiga. not only do you need to get the access to
the card to talk to the devices, but you also have to master a new
auto-config system for the USB, with hot plug'n'play/detect.

and then theres all the actual USB devices....how many of those companies
will give info to an Amiga developer? For some of these USB things you're
lucky if you get a Mac driver :-|

I think the low-level USB stuff should be done by Amiga, that should be
their job. then let the 3rd party coders do the actual nastiness of
getting such things as USB PCI cards to be integrated into that API
