Chances are you are in a similar position to me and have a DACS box on your
phone line.
DACS boxes basically just split your existing phone line in two, which means
you cannot get the full 57600 out of your main phone line.
It is possible, apparently, to get BT to remove said boxes, but I've been
trying for over a year and I've never managed it.
If you manage it, please let me know how.
