WB's serial prefs aren't used by any TCP stack or most terminal
software. The symptom with these particular modems was that they could
connect to a BBS fine, but failed on handshaking with TCP connections.
The only way to connect was to disable hardware handshaking and set the
serial speed to 9600. But it only affected the final version of the
Microlin.
