Ho yes!
I used to use a Pentium P90 last year and upgraded to an EZ/PC tower with a
stonking 450mhz AMD CPU! Blindingly fast for nearly 6 months!
I thought about upgrading to an Athlon Thunderbird 1.4gig CPU. This meant
changing the whole tower for an ATX type, plus a new m/board, CPU fan, power
supply and two of my cards from ISA to PCI.
I'd need to fit the Amiga into the case myself, but what the hey?
Now Pentium have released the Pentium 4 which strolls along at 2gig!
The minimum for most PC programs last year was a Pentium P90. This year it's
closer to what I already have although my ancillary hardware is falling
behind! (My graphics card is getting past it)
Next year my 450 CPU will be a joke and my graphics card will be
prehistoric!
I think I'll just wait until Majel Barrett speaks to me when I turn the damn
thing on and Captain Picard boldly goes where no other washing powder has
cleaned before!
Pc's....... it'd be cheaper to buy out Microsoft!
