I keep all registration numbers and keycodes on disk. Both in a file in
the program's directory and with my keyfile backups. It saves retyping
them when programs asks for it again, either for updates like GoldED or
because the program has been moved as with MakeCD or IDEfix. With the
code on disk you can cut'n'paste into the requester instead of typing it
again.
