Hmm. I suppose it is possible, but I doubt it. That library is different
from most of the other sound libraries in that it has no built-in play
routines at all. The SSInit[Module] actually calls a real library for access
(this is why there is also a DeInit.. To close the library once you are done
with it.) If there is a problem with the player, it's in the amiga-dos
library. Somehow I wonder if I goofed something with the SS library.. I
don't remember ever having that problem before though.
It is possible that I have a newer one than what was released.. Same thing
with the Tracker library.. What is sitting on my hd is WAY different than
what everyone else has. (I put in a bunch of commands I never thought anyone
else would find a use for..)
Can you check on the bytesize of the SS library you have? I'll compare it to
what I have.

Does the init return true? If not, it's failing the first time it tries to
open the library. Other than that, maybe the volume is low when you try to
play the first time? Otherwise, I'm not sure at this time what else it could
be.
