Removing Red-Eye

Red-eye is created in photos taken with a flash. The flash reflects off the retina in the back of the eye creating a red color.

There are two ways to remove red eye. (1) Use the red-eye tool found in the Wizard panel. (2) Reduce the saturation of the red area using the Hue adjustment tool.  Both methods are described below.

To remove red-eye from a photo, select the Red-Eye Tool from the Wizard Panel. Choose a brush size by estimating the size of the red area you want to fix. Center the cursor over the red portion of each eye and click once.

Studio Feature: Reducing Saturation: Another great way to get rid of red-eye is to use the oval selection tool (available in the FotoFinish Studio Edition) to select the red portion of the eye, and then select Adjust Colors in the Image menu. Choose Adjust Hue from the drop-down list at lower left, click on More, and then desaturate the selection by moving the saturation slider to the left.
