System Requirements for QuickTime

Here we list the minimum system requirements that are needed for the Macintosh or for Windows. We also point you towards the latest drivers for Windows.

Macintosh

• System Requirements
  • Mac OS 7.0 or later
  • Either a:
    • PowerPC Macintosh with 16MB of RAM, or
    • 68020, 68030, or 68040 Macintosh with 8 MB of RAM
• The following features are only available on the Power Macintosh:
  • MPEG-1
  • DV
  • 3D
  • Magnify, ripple and cloud effects
  • Floating-point audio
    

Windows,

• System Requirements
  • Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0
  • 486DX at 66Mhz or any MPC2 compliant PC
  • 16MB RAM
  • Sound Blaster Compatible Card
  • Installation of Direct X version 3.0 or higher is recommended
  • Installation of the latest DirectDraw and DirectSound drivers is recommended.
