Installation: Throw the files into a directory of your choice. Run 2PAT.EXE. The first time you run 2PAT, it will automatically associate a bunch of filetypes with 2PAT. If any specific file type is already associated with another program,you will be prompted if you want to replace the old association or not; in most cases you will not want to, since the other program is probably more 'specialized' in that particular file type... Registration: Registered users will obtain a personal registration keycode contained in a file named 'REGISTER.KEY'. See 'REGISTER.TXT' on how to obtain one. Start up 2PAT. Choose 'Options->Program...->Register...' and locate this file in order to turn the unregistered version of 2PAT into a registered version. You only need to do this once per (Windows login) user. Do not store the 'REGISTER.KEY' file on a publically accessible media less someone may steal it, i. e. after you have registered yourself, keep it on a floppy and delete it from your hard disk. It is your registration license and are to be treated as any other value 'paper'. When installing future versions of 2PAT you won't have to reenter your registration keycode again, unless specifically noted in an accompanying text. Troubleshooting: ? Program complains about not being able to load COMCTL32.DLL when I try to start it. ! Read the requirements section again. ou must have a Win32 platform that supports the common controls introduced in Windows 95. This may either be Windows 95,Windows NT v3.51 or later or Windows 3.1 with the Win32s etxensions v1.3 or later installed. If you use Windows 3.1,look in the WIN32S.INI file in the ...\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to determine what version of Win32s you have. v1.3 was still in beta when this text was written, but by now it should be available (for free) through Microsoft distribution sources.Can't find it? You must have this .DLL installed in your WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. It is available from Turtle Beach and it comes (and is automatically installed) with the latest versions of their WavePatch and Wave SE softwares. ? Program crashes when using auditioning on the Maui under Windows 95. ! You must get a newer version of the WFGATE.DLL. It should be dated 95-08-18 or later (earlier versions are incompatible with Windows 95). At the time of this writing, it is only available as a patch from Turtle Beach but it should be included with later versions of their softwares. I can email you a copy if you can't find it anywhere else. ? Auditioning on the Maui/Tropez still doesn't work. ! Well, I too have sometimes encountered problems with this feature. If WFSLOAD keeps getting GPFs then a clean boot sometimes helps, but not for certain. Do not expect this problem to be fixed until Turtle Beach releases some 32bit support. ? Program complains about not being able to load AWEMAN.DLL when I try to use auditioning on the SB AWE32 (or comapatible). ! It is available from Creative Labs and it should come (and be installed) with the latest versions of their drivers.However,at the time of this writing, this .DLL was not yet available in a Windows 95 compatible version. ? I select the 'DAC' or the 'CLIP' virtual export format(s) in the Save dialog, but it complains about 'invalid filename' under Win32s. ! That's right,it is invalid filenames under the old 8.3 FAT filesystem. Use the equivalent commands on the program menu instead.
