The concept of the company pool is to assist a limited number of companies in obtaining a foothold in the Philippine market at an attractive price. In order to achieve this, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is establishing a 'Company Pool' which is attached to the ECCP. The 'pool' will be managed by the managing director of the ECCP and will employ specialists who will exclusively work for the 'pool'. The 'pool' will make full use of the infrastructure of the ECCP and will therefore benefit from the contacts of the ECCP.

	market entry of the pool member companies through the experts employed by the 'pool';
	creation of contacts to Philippine business partners (export, import, cooperation, financing) and to Philippine government agencies, chambers of commerce and industry associations;
	continuous and exclusive representation of the interests of the pool members;
	introduction of products and services to business partners;
	preparation and assistance before and during business trips of the pool members to the Philippines;
	market oriented information (on request);
	utilization of ECCP offices during visits to Manila and Cebu.

The 'pool' focuses on the following sectors: construction / building technologies; food processing and packaging machinery; capital goods in general. Other sectors can also apply; should there be sufficient interest in other product areas, widening of the pool range will be considered.

The pool is limited to 15 companies which should not be in competition with each other.

The cost for the participation in the 'Company Pool - Philippines' is

US$ 9,500 per annum / per company.

Prerequisite for this cost is the participation of pool members from three EU member states and that the companies employ less than 250 people, their turnover does not exceed ECU 40 million and the total assets is not higher than ECU 27 million.

If these prerequisites are not fulfilled, the cost increase to US$ 12,500 per annum / per company.

Preparations in Europe:

• visit each of the participation companies;
• establishment of expected services and activities of the participating companies in the Philippines;




Activities in the Philippines:

• translation of information materials: limited translation free of charge; extensive translation to be subcontracted against reimbursement of costs;
• providing information on request, regarding:
  fairs and exhibitions;
  company addresses and contacts;
  government agencies and industry associations;
  statistics (import; export; economic indicators; etc.);
  advertising;
  market information;
  




Contacts to Philippine business partners:

• selection of potential business partners and contacts;
• contacts to government offices, chambers of commerce and industry associations;




Market entry activities:

• company visits and introduction of products and services of pool members;
• establishing of the requirements of Philippine business partners;
• continuous reporting;




Preparation and Assistance before and during visits of pool members:

• hotel bookings (on request);
• pick-up arrangements at airport;
• arranging of visit program; setting of appointments; joining company visits;
• translation during company visits; (if external support is required, costs will be charged to the pool member);
• hiring of a car (against reimbursement of costs);




Utilization of the office facilities of the ECCP during visits to the Philippines.
