Kaleidopee Version 1.0 © 1997 The Article 19 Group Inc. http://www.article19.com _________________________________________________________________ Introduction _________________________________________________________________ Kaleidopee is an award-winning, mind-stretching brew of visual enchantment, deep music, and play. Some parts are twitch, some parts think. Through it all, you eat and grow. One big restaurant, Alice. You might just find that growing in this Wonderland poses some... challenges. This mental isometric excercise comes to you courtesy of The Article 19 Group Inc. So join with Kaleidopee and do away with some of the possibilities... _________________________________________________________________ Shareware _________________________________________________________________ Please note that Kaleidopee is not a free product. Kaleidopee is distributed as shareware. You are permitted to use it on a trial basis for up to 30 days from the date of receipt. If you wish to continue using Kaleidopee beyond that period, you are expected to pay a registration fee of $15 US to obtain a license to use Kaleidopee. Please note that unregistered copies of Kaleidopee have a maximum score of 30, but are otherwise fully functional. Instructions for how to purchase and register Kaleidopee are included below in a section entitled "How To Purchase And Register Kaleidopee". After we have processed your registration, we will send you a license code that you enter to complete the registration process. This removes the shareware notices and the maximum score limit, and personalizes your copy of Kaleidopee. Our mission is to offer high quality products at a reasonable price, on a "try before you buy" basis. Supporting us by registering Kaleidopee is the only way you can ensure that we will continue to produce more high quality software distributed as shareware _________________________________________________________________ System Requirements _________________________________________________________________ MACINTOSH * Motorola 68020, 68030, 68040 processors (68040 recommended) and all PowerPC processors. * System 7.0.1 system software or later * A color monitor which supports a minimum of 256 colours and 640 x 480 resolution. * A keyboard and mouse (or other pointing device) * At least 2048 K of available RAM (4096 K recommended) WINDOWS 3.1 / 95 * 386, 486 processors (486 recommended) and all Pentium processors. * A color monitor which supports a minimum of 256 colours and 640 x 480 resolution. * A keyboard and mouse (or other pointing device) * At least 2048 K of available RAM (4096 K recommended) _________________________________________________________________ Instructions and Controls _________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVE The objective of Kaleidopee is deceptively simple: Grow. To grow you need to eat. Every time you eat a food pellet (the flashing circular object) you get a point and you get longer. Seems simple enough except you have one major constraint: DON'T HIT ANYTHING! And we do mean anything. Not a wall. Not another snake. Not even yourself. No problem when your body is 10 or 12 units long ...BUT... see how easy it is when you're 100 units long... MOVEMENT Use the "Controls" feature in the game to access the Control configuration screen. Here you can select the keys you will use to move Kaleidopee around the play area. You can select any key from "a" to "z", or any of the four arrow keys (the keypad is not supported). VOLUME Use the number keys on your keyboard to control volume. 1 is low, 7 is high, 0 is mute. OTHER CONTROLS * Typing a "p" pauses the game. Typing "p" again unpauses the game. * Typing an "r" or hitting the space bar aborts a game and returns you to the Main Menu. _________________________________________________________________ How To Purchase And Register Kaleidopee _________________________________________________________________ (1) Open the REGISTER application by double-clicking on its icon.
