Troubleshooting

Now that you have read everything you will know that there are
varying standards for modems,and  you also know that there are
still some problems now and again. This is also possible when a
new modem enters the market. A small change in the timing 
commands and ....

Some more advice for these cases which you should follow!

AUTO-folder PRGs and ACCs

The ATARI is the computer which offers the best freeware- and
shareware programmes. These little helpers are carefully
programmed,  according to their own instructions, but there are
also quite a number of "error intensive" extensions around.

Switch off all  extensions and reboot and test CoMa again.
You can not deactivate HSModem! This programme and the
nessessary drivers have to be booted.

	Modem protocol

Every time you encounter problems, despite following all our
advice in this handbook, activate the function "modem protocol" in
the dialogue-box "parameter General".

This function writes the complete communication between CoMa and
the modem into the file modem protocol and saves it in the system
folder of CoMa. It is much easier for us to work from this
protocol and solve your problem for you. As you are having
problems with your modem send us a print out of the file.

Please remember to de-activate "modem protocol" after this has
been done, otherwise it will continue to make a report after every
activity and save it.

	Problems in voice operation

All manufacturers seem to do there own thing for voice modems and
we have highlighted incompatibilities in chapter 3.5.
