Troubleshooting

Q: The imagemaps I create work fine in my computer but they don't work over the Internet.

A: This happens because you are using the unregistered version. To fix the problem register now and you will get the applet that will let you publish your imagemaps over the Internet.

Q: When I test the applet, it works fine but when I embed it in a web page I don't see the images and I don't hear the sounds.

A: Don't forget that after creating an imagemap and embeding the HTML generated from the application into your web page, you have to copy all the images and sounds you are using into a subdirectory called "imagemap". This subdirectory must be in the same directory your web page resides. In addition, in the same subdirectory you have to copy the following two files:

  • aia.class
  • HtSpt.class
that can be found in the Advanced Imagemap Designer directory under the "applet" subdirectory.

Q: When I test the applet, it works fine but when I embed it in a web page I get the message "Applet can't start: class aia not found"

A: You forgot to copy the two .class files into the imagemap subdirectory. See previous question.
