1. Overview
(1) MvrVal.exe is an utility to check your PC for using the MVR-D2000. It will check for overlay capabilities, and the supported capture bitrate.

(2) This utility needs the following modules:
        MvrAvc.dll mpelib.dll (Canopus Win32 DLL)
        DDRAW.dll
        MFC42.dll MFC42LOC.dll

(3)The test will not insure the system compliance with MVR-D2000.



2. Overlay check
Click [Overlay] to check for your PC's overlay capability. It will display a color pattern, and ask you if the image is displayed correctly. (The color bars will be white, yellow, cyan, green, magenta, red, blue, black)
If they are displayed correctly, click yes.
  You need a graphics accelerator card that supports UYUV or 16bit RGB(5:6:5) pixel format overlay surface.




3. CPU performance test
 3-1. Audio encoding performance
Click [Audio Encode] to measure the CPU performance in 44.1kHz 192kbps or 48kHz 384kbps. The result will be shown in percentage of CPU usage.

 3-2 Video encoding performance
Click [Video Encode] to measure the CPU performance in 1Mbps - 15Mbps. The result will be shown in percentage of CPU usage.

 3-3 Hard disk performance
Click [Disk Write] to measure the performance of your hard disk. The result will be shown in bps.
In some drives, the result may differ every time you try the test. Please try the test a several times.

 3-4 Overall performance
Click [Program Stream] to calculate the overall CPU performance during the MPEG2 program stream capture, from the above tests. See the chart below for reference:

    90% or under : This system should be OK for MPEG2 capturing
    90%-100%     : The capture may fail in some occasions
    100% or above: The video bitrate setting should be lower.

If the result is over 100%, please set the bitrate lower and retry the test.
