What
Russian Aviation Gallery is a collection of detailed descriptions of modern military aircraft in presently in service, or curretly under development for the Russian Armed Forces. The descriptions are accompanied by images and tabulated data.

Why
There is a certain mystique about Russian military aircraft. Through the cold war, little was known about their capabilities and it was not until the advent of Glasnost that we began to see some of their modern front line fighters in the west. It began with a visit of 2 Mig29A Fulcrums to a Finnish airbase. Well, since I am an aviation enthusiast and I had an interest in Russia, it is natural for me to be entrigued by these aircraft. Since I had some knowledge about the net, I wanted to help share my interest of Russian aviation with other like minded people. So here it is, the Russian Aviation Gallery, dedicated to all those who, designed, built, maintained and flew these marvellous aircraft, from the beginning of Russian aviation to today.
