Microsoft DirectX 5.2

What's New in Microsoft® DirectX® 5.2:

DirectX 5.2 includes the following fixes and changes developed since the release of DirectX 5.0:

  • DirectX 5.2 will install on international language versions of Microsoft® Windows® 95. In earlier versions setup could not install drivers onto unsupported language versions of Windows 95 and did not install the correct drivers if the regional setting was different than the default setting.
  • Japanese language users of DirectX 5.2 and the NEC PC-98 series of computers can reliably use digital joysticks using the DX5NEC.EXE download file.
  • DirectX 5.2 setup will update older drivers that are not supported by Microsoft® DirectSound®.
  • DirectX 5.2 can be installed onto the Chinese (Traditional) version of Windows 95 without causing a GPF during boot on some machines. Use the download file, DX5CHT.EXE.
  • New DXBUG.EXE and DXINFO.EXE files are included with DirectX 5.2. These tools report incorrectly placed DirectX components.
