Date: Sun, 28 Jun 1998 14:43:07 EDT QUIZ DAISOUSA SEN: THE LAST COUNT DOWN Published by SNK 34 Meg Cartridge Made by C.B. Mullins(CMull11217@aol.com) Version 1.0 Well, this is not endorsed by Moby Dick Productions, or SNK of Japan.....now on with the show! --------------------------------------------------------- 1. Why did you make this FAQ? 2. Any past versions, or people to thank? 3. Gimme all the options, and how the game plays.... 4. Guy Scenario 5. Girl Scenario 6. Board Game Mode 7. Strategies --------------------------------------------------------- 1. Why did you do this FAQ? Well, that's hard to say. Some of the Neo owners, who actually have this game, want to actually PLAY the game. Even though it is in Japanese, I have tried my best to translate some of it, and the result is this FAQ, of course. You know, since this was actually a Japanese movie made in 1990, it had a good plot for a reason(by Moby Dick Productions). Now, I hope you enjoy this FAQ! ---------------------------------- 2. Any past versions, or people to thank? No past versions yet, but unless this FAQ is indeed complete, there will be. If anyone would like to contribute, please e-mail me your contributions, and I'll credit you here. Thanks! ---------------------------------- 3. Gimme all the options, and how the game plays....... Okay, I'll try. There are 3 scenarios in the game(Guy, Girl, Board Game), 2 heroes(Neo McDonald, and Geo Kentacky), and when you select a scenario, the button you hit it with determines difficulty. A=Easy B=Medium C=Hard D=MVS (between Medium and Hard) You have 3 continues to beat the game, but in two-player mode, you work together(except for Board Game mode). Each player starts out with 3 life bars per continue as well. Every time you get a question wrong, you lose one life bar, and if you get it right, it remains the same. Once you get through a section, you gain one life bar(most of the time). Once you face someone, a choice must be made, consisting of A, B, C, and D. After pressing the corresponding button, by random choice you'll get one of these: *2 choices per question *3 choices per question *4 choices per question *pick any category While a question scrolls on the screen, you have to choose the correct answer, by pressing the corresponding button. The person you face, holds up 5 fingers, which count down to zero after the question scrolls once. If you get one wrong, the person will laugh hysterically at you, but if you get it right, the person will look dumbfounded or straight-faced. Above the area where the question scrolls on the screen, is where there are empty-bars waiting to be filled. One question equals one bar filled. Different people require different amounts of right answers to pass. Also, each question is worth 500 points, and when you beat a person, you get 3000 to 9000 points. There are a couple of random "mini-scenarios" to go through, and a Jeopardy-like part as well, which I'll describe right now. ACCIDENT 1---The random scenarios will say "ACCIDENT" before them, by the way. This one invloves a magnate of sorts(looks like Jack Nicholson), and you have to save your partner(hanging on a rope) from being eaten by a shark. In order to win, you need to answer 4 consecutive questions right, or something like 2 correct, one wrong, and 3 correct will do. Well, if you get one wrong, each one will move you closer to the shark. ACCIDENT 2---This involves a policewoman, and in order to ring in to answer 5 questions right(not consecutively), you need to rapidly press the button you want to choose for your answer. It's not as hard as it seems. JEOPARDY--- Like the game show, when a TV screen comes up, almost always will you play interactive "Jeopardy" to get farther in the game. You need 8 points to pass. There are 16 questions, 4 one point, 4 two point, 4 three point, and 4 four point questions on each "Jeopardy" board. All you need is 8 points, so if you get a four-point question, you get 4 points, or 4 regular questions. Fun, isn't it? Now, I'll describe the "Board Game Mode" now for you. You have to complete about 20 sections, and no story is involved here. Each time you face someone, you only need to answer one question right to pass. If you answer incorrectly, you will be forced back some steps. In 2 player mode, when you catch up to the other, you face other, and whoever wins steals 1000 G from the other. By the way, G equals Gold, and is used instead of points here. You can buy from shops here as well. You can buy the following: Antidote to cure Snakebite 1000 G One Life Bar 2000 G Change wrong Answer 3000 G Jet ahead a few sections 5000 G Well, I hope that does it for you. Now, on with the scenario! ------------------------------------- 4. Guy Scenario Geo Kentacky and Neo McDonald help out their friend, who has heard about a drug deal involving the President. Board Game Mode Since I have described earlier what it was about, I'll just go through the different sections in this part. After jumping on a moving train, you face 2(or 3) people who asks you one question, and you have to answer correctly. Then, an explosion happens, and you head through the desert to the jungle. After meeting at the jungle store, you face a barbarian, who needs money to let the girl go free. Soon after, the girl saves you from facing the barbarian, then you go into a cave to meet a magician (1 question, as always). A wandering store owner pops up, and later, a snake bites the hero. 2 people pass(1 question each), and then you must answer one question to get a steel cart to race across train tracks over lava as well. You'll face 3 people while on the track, then you'll find the male store owner from earlier. Now, press A or B to either get sent back 5 spaces or continue on(random). You then meet three generals, who magically disappear, and the magician reappears. One right answer later, and you choose YES or NO whether you want to open the treasure or not. ----------------------------------------- 7. Strategies There are some strategies to beat this game, as follows: 1. Use two players as often as possible in this game, as two people working together is always better than one. 2. There seems to be a button pattern to questions. If you see "D" answers one after another(2 in a row), you press "D", then there is a 75% chance to get it right. Then, pick the letter above, or below it, for the next answer, and that is a 75% chance also. 3. Sometimes, about 60% of the time, the weirdest looking, and longest answer will be right. ---------------------------------------- That's about it for now, I hope you enjoy this FAQ, and this wonderful game(Dammit, I hope this game was in American!). If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at CMull11217@aol.com. Thanks. Chris Mullins's Quiz Daisousa Sen FAQ ver.1.0 END
