DIED. Earl Robinson, 81, songwriter who penned ballads extolling the working class; of injuries suffered in a car accident; in Seattle. Paul Robeson and later Joan Baez memorably recorded Robinson's most enduring ballad, Joe Hill, about the Utah labor organizer. The House I Live In, sung by Frank Sinatra in a short film celebrating America's ethnic and religious diversity, won an Academy Award in 1945.
