DIED. Ralph Bellamy, 87, character actor who in six decades on the screen portrayed a gallery of roles from twits to tycoons to a future President; in Santa Monica, Calif. Bellamy was the perfect foil for Cary Grant in classic screwball comedies like The Awful Truth (1937). He created a gallant Franklin Roosevelt battling polio in Sunrise at Campobello (1960) and a grizzled corporate lion fending off a leveraged buyout in last year's Pretty Woman.
