It's 17 years since PagePlus revolutionised the desktop publishing world, with its combination of powerful features, low price and general ease of use. Constant development ever since means it's still one of Serif's flagship products, and this edition comes backed with reasons why it should be your publishing tool of choice.
There's the collection of pre-designed project templates, for instance, in categories like Business Cards, Calendars, Greetings Cards, Newsletters and even Web Sites. Pick one, replace the default text with your own, and you could be finished in a few seconds.
If the templates don't deliver what you need then it's better to start with a blank page, then drag in useful elements from the PagePlus Gallery toolbar. There are backgrounds that could work as fancy stationery, a range of stylish logos, some clever text effects, predesigned flashes and coupons, some intricately-shaped masks, and more.
If you're an experienced desktop publishing user then you might prefer to create your own content, and PagePlus 8.0 has plenty of features that can help. There's a fancy text tool where you can scale, rotate, flip and otherwise manipulate words, applying fills directly at the character level; curved line and editing tools allow you to drag Bezier nodes around to achieve any shape you want; and the new table tool, bitmap and gradient fills, shadow and transparency effects all come together to produce highly professional results.
Best of all, PagePlus is now capable of generating high quality PDF files, with clickable hyperlinks, bookmarks and a range of annotations, allowing you to distribute documents online that look just as good as the printed version.
