HOW TO PLAY

Logic Squares brings traditional word logic puzzles/problems to the Pocket PC.

In traditional logic puzzles, you might have to find who lived in what house, what the color of the house was and where it was located in relation to the other houses. The object of Logic Squares is to determine the location of 9 colors in a 3 x 3 grid by reading and then interpreting the clues.

Here the computer will generate an unlimited number of puzzles and then randomly present the clues for you to solve the puzzle. There are three different levels ranging from easy to hard.

To get a better understanding of the game you might want to select a game and then Game/Solve to see a correct solution. Then compare the solution with the clues found in the clue box at the bottom of the screen.

To start a new puzzle, select File and then one of the levels.

You will see nine groups of nine colors each arranged in a 3 x 3 grid. Below these squares you will see five clues in the clue box.

To play, read the first clue and try to eliminate some locations for colors. For instance, if the clue reads 'yellow is immediately to the right of red', you will know than yellow cannot be anywhere in the first column, nor can red be anywhere in the right hand column. So then you would tap on the yellow squares in the first column and red in the last column to mark them with an 'N' for 'no'. If you change your mind, you can tap a square again to change it back to a blank.

When you have determined the location of a particular color, you can mark it a 'yes' by double tapping on the color. The whole block of 9 squares will change to that color. If you have made a mistake, you can double tap it again to reverse the process.

When you are ready for a new clue, tap on Clue on the menu. This will add a new clue to the list. You may also double tap on a clue in the box to mark that you have used this clue.

Continue in this fashion until you have correctly determined the location of the nine colors. Your score is based on the time of completion times the number of clues you have used.

While playing the game, you may start over or solve the puzzle using the commands from the Game Menu.

From the Options Menu, you may change the background color, view the high scores for each level or reset the high scores.
