The first time you open the Open dialog
box and the New File task
pane (available from the F ile
menu) in Microsoft Access, the My Documents folder is the default working (or active) folder. If you install the Office Shortcut
Bar, the My Documents folder is also the default folder that opens from the Open Office Document button
on the Office Shortcut Bar,
from the N ew
Office Document, and the Open Office Document command on the Windows Start
menu
.
If you select
a different folder or create a database in a different folder, this new folder becomes
the default working folder and will be displayed in the Open dialog
box and the New File task
pane.

In versions of Microsoft Windows earlier than Windows 2000, the My Documents folder is located at the root folder. In Windows 2000, My Documents is a desktop folder and is represented by an icon of a folder with a sheet of paper in it. To change the location of your My Documents folder, look in Windows 2000 Help for additional information.
