Enable Instant Messaging in Outlook

Instant Messaging is enabled in Outlook by default. Use this procedure if at any time Instant Messaging was disabled.

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Other.
2. Under Instant Messaging, select the Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook check box.

Note   If you do not have the latest version of the Instant Messaging service required by Outlook, you can update your files by doing the following:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Other.
2. Under Instant Messaging, click Options.
