Create a security label for a message

This feature requires Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).

A security label lets you add information to the message header about the sensitivity of the message content. For example, an Internal Use Only label might be applied to mail that should not be sent or forwarded outside of your company.

Create a security label for a single message

  1. In the message, click Options.
  2. Click Security Settings.
  3. Click the Add digital signature to this message check box.
  4. Under Security Label, click a policy module.
  5. Click a classification.
  6. Enter a privacy mark.

Whether you can enter a privacy mark or classification depends on the settings of your policy module.

  7. If it is available, click the Configure button to choose any advanced settings you want.
