About entering dates and times in a different calendar

The feature described in this Help topic is only available if support for an appropriate language is enabled through Microsoft Office Language Settings.

You can enter a year according to either the Western calendar or the other calendar in any date entry box in the Calendar, regardless of the date display format.

For example, if the date display format is set to the Japanese calendar and you type 1997/2/20 in a date-input box, heiseiheisei9nen2gatsu20nichi will be displayed.

You can enter a time by using the characters that indicate A.M. or P.M., or in the hh:mm format in any time-input box. For example, if you enter gogogogo2ji20pun, 14:20 will be displayed.
