If you are not using the Japanese version of Microsoft Office, then this feature is only available if you have installed the Microsoft Office XP Multilingual User Interface Pack or Microsoft Office XP Proofing Tools for Japanese. In addition, you must enable support for Japanese through Microsoft Office Language Settings.
Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 allows you to check the grammar of Japanese text in a multilingual presentation. PowerPoint identifies poorly formed or incorrectly converted Japanese text strings in your presentation with a wavy, red underline.
When you check Japanese grammar, PowerPoint stops at each grammatical error in your presentation, identifies the error, and provides suggestions for correcting the error.
