Add text to a slide

Do one of the following: 

Add body or title text

Note   If your text exceeds the size of the placeholder, Microsoft PowerPoint reduces the font size and line spacing incrementally as you type, to make the text fit. 

Add text to an AutoShape

Note   To add text to a line, connector, or freeform AutoShape, you must add text using a text box.

Add text to a text box

  1. On the Drawing toolbar, click Text Box .
  2. Do one of the following:

    Add text that stays on a single line

    Add text that wraps

Add WordArt

  1. Select the slide you want to add WordArt to.
  2. On the Drawing toolbar, click Insert WordArt .
  3. Click the WordArt effect you want, and then click OK.
  4. In the Edit WordArt Text dialog box, type the text you want.
