About converting other presentations to PowerPoint format

You can use Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 to open presentations created in Harvard Graphics and Lotus Freelance. When these types of presentations are opened in PowerPoint 2002, much of the original content and formatting is preserved.

Presentations created in programs other than Harvard Graphics and Lotus Freelance can be opened in PowerPoint by using one of several text or graphics file formats. Text formats preserve the text of the presentation, which can then be opened in PowerPoint 2002. Saving a presentation in a graphics file format saves each slide as a separate graphic image, which you can insert into PowerPoint 2002.

Converting a presentation using graphics file formats

PowerPoint can open presentations saved as .wmf or .pct files. If the program you're importing the presentation from doesn't support .wmf or .pct files, save the slides in a graphics file format that's built into PowerPoint or for which a graphics import filter is installed.

Converting a presentation using text file formats

To save the text portion of a file in a format PowerPoint can open, save it as a Rich Text Format (.rtf) file. If you don't want to save text formatting, or if your program doesn't support .rtf, you can save the presentation as a plain text (.txt) file.
