Specify a Windows Media Server or encoder for a broadcast
This setting applies to all broadcasts from a particular computer, not just to the presentation you are preparing to broadcast. You should check this setting before broadcasting each time, to ensure that it reflects your preference for that broadcast session.
- Open the presentation you want to broadcast.
- On the Slide Show menu, point to Online Broadcast, and then click Settings.
- On the Advanced tab, do one of the following:
- If you want to use a remote Microsoft Windows Media encoder, type the name of the encoder in the Use this remote encoding machine field. It is not necessary to include back or forward slashes with the computer name.
- If you want to use a local server with Windows Media Services (on your LAN), type the name of the server in the Use this local Windows Media Server on this LAN field. It is not necessary to include back or forward slashes with the computer name.
- If you don't have access to a Windows Media Server and you want to use one, select the Use a third party Windows Media service provider option.
- Click OK to save the setting.
Note If you selected the third-party Windows Media service provider option in step 3 above, then after you click Start or Schedule, you will be directed to a Web site that offers service provider options to choose from. The remainder of the broadcast process will be handled through the third-party service provider.
