ConceptDraw V

This program really blew me away. It was amazing how simple it was to use and how quickly you could do almost anything. The menu system was simple to use and easy find things. The manual that it comes with was also a very useful tool, yet not all of it is needed if you are just trying to make some basic diagrams. It gives both a basic look and an advanced look at the program.

The things I really liked about this program are that it is capable of doing almost anything. Here are some of the built in templates that the program comes with Basic Diagrams, Building Plans, Business Diagrams, Computer and Networking, Maps, and many more. The program also has a built in library with common images that help you create your diagram or drawing. These shapes and images are also very customizable, you can reshape and resizing every image in the library. Another feature is the free-hand drawing. It is a little limited though it can only draw by snapping to the grid. Creating text is easy and it can be formatted quickly as well. It allows you to change the font and the font size, as well as other basic text operations, but for creating scientific formulas and other things you can create superscripts and subscripts with ease.

One feature that is supposed to be new for this program and I enjoyed is a thing the program calls Smart Connectors which are used when connecting word bubbles or images together. No matter where you move the images around the connector stays attached to the image and follows it. The connectors will also go around objects if they are in the way and also show bridges or gaps when it passes over another connector.I did not find any problems with this program in its functionality or usability. It is very user friendly and I would recommend it to anyone that is heavy into making floor plans or business diagrams.
