 Its compact size and wide cross-platform support makes Adobe's PDF the sensible choice of format, for anyone who ever needs to distribute electronic documents. And so it's a pity that so few applications offer the ability to save PDF files. novaPDF Lite Desktop 5 offers an easy way to solve this unfortunate situation, though, by creating a virtual printer driver that brings easy PDF export capability to just about any Windows application.
The program is extremely easy to use. Create a document in your application of choice, choose the Print option and select the novaPDF Lite 5 printer driver. Specify a name and location for the PDF file, and it'll be created for you, then displayed for you to confirm that everything has worked. And if the default settings produce good results for your purposes, then that may be all you ever need to do.
If you need more control over the finished file, though, then click Preferences in your Print dialog and take a look at the novaPDF settings. Here you're able to change the page size, for instance, from the default A4 to a number of other standard options, or a custom size you create yourself. You can choose either portrait or landscape orientation, and set the file resolution from 72 to a professional print quality 300 dpi.
Choose the Document tab and you're able to configure various details about the file, like its title, subject, author and associated keywords. It's also possible to define how the PDF viewer will behave when the file is opened, for example with your choice of page layout and magnification. And the Save tab lets you set up novaPDF Lite to create and save files automatically, without prompting you for a name, making PDF creation as quick and easy as it can possibly be.
