Applying these icons is a bit different. 
Make a file named autorun.inf in the HD's root using the DOS edit.com or whatever. 
 
Now write: 

          [autorun]
          icon="%path/%icon-name.ico"

Replace %path with the icon's path and %icon-name with the icon's file name. 

I made the HD icons according to the subjects my partitions are split by. I didn't have many ideas, so send me any requests you have for other HD icons.
