Submitting New CDs to freedb

Users scanning CDs and manually entering track and artist information built the freedb database. If you have a new, commercially available CD that doesn't appear in the freedb database, or find errors in a listing, and would like to give back to the freedb database, you can submit an update to the freedb database.

Just click on the Submit () toolbar button, and fill out the dialog that appears.

• Enter the artist and album name
• Double-click on any track to edit it
• Select a category (rock, reggae, etc.) from the popup menu
• Any additional information about the disc may be places in the Disc Information area.
• When done editing, hit "Submit" to send the disc to the freedb database. Note that it may take up to a day before the new submission is approved and added to the freedb database.
• If you just want to see if your submission is approved, without actually adding a disc to the freedb database, use the "Test Submit" button.

Track Editor

When you double-click on a track to edit it, you may enter both the track title and additional information about the track (credits, lyrics, etc.).
