Apple releases OS 8.6, a free update to 8.5 owners! The update adds many stability and system improvements.

Yamaha SW1000XG ASIO driver update available.
Digidesign releases ProTools 4.3.1 Update - Adds support for the new Power Macintosh G3 (specifically, the new "blue and white" G3) and much more! Get more information. In addition, they have posted Version 3.4.2 of the DigiSystem and DAE drivers on their ftp servers, also improving "blue and white" G3 compatibility. The new drivers have had mixed results, so be careful. New utilities are also available as well.
Yamaha has released a beta DSP Factory Mac Driver that allows the DS2416 PCI audio card to work with any application that supports the ASIO audio standard (such as Cubase, Emagic, Vision). The driver will not work with blue G3's; Yamaha says a driver for the new machines is under development.
