As LibPad is beta software (and will probably remain so, until the Microsoft HtmlHelp controls reach release versions), it has several limitations. Below are the main limitations at present.
- Keyboard edit operations not working
- Currently, using Ctrl+key where key is either X, C, or V for cut, copy or paste operations, doesn't work as expected. For the moment, it is recommended that you use either the standard Edit menu options, or the same options on the right-click pop-up menu.
- Minimising LibPad causes refresh problems
- If LibPad is minimised, then restored to normal size, while either the sample browser, or the HTMLib window is visible, the displayed page may not be refreshed properly. Simply right-click anywhere on the page and select Refresh from the pop-up menu.
- LibPad always asks about saving the current file
- Until I can get the flags sorted out, LibPad will always enquire whether you wish to save the current file or not when the file is closed, regardless of whether any changes have been made. Simply make sure you know when you last saved the current document and everything will be OK.
- Non-filtering of drag and drop operations from Explorer
- While the editor window is open (i.e. with a document loaded), it will accept drag and drop operations from Explorer, opening HTML documents dropped in the window. It will also open any files dropped on it from Explorer, so use it carefully.
