Stage 5: Customize components

In this stage, you provide mail and newsgroup information, and specify desktop, shell, and security settings for your organization. To do this, carry out the following steps:

If you're installing Microsoft NetMeeting or Microsoft Outlook Express, you will be prompted for the following:

The name of your user's incoming mail (POP3) server, outgoing mail (SMTP) server, and domain name, if you choose to include Outlook Express Mail with your custom browser.
The name of your Internet news server, if you include Outlook Express News with your custom browser.
The user location service (ULS) server for NetMeeting and the NetMeeting home page address.
An automatic signature for newsgroup postings, such as a corporate disclaimer.
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) information.

In the System Policies and Restrictions panel, you can specify desktop, shell, and security settings across your organization.

Double-click each category to display the options.
Select or clear the check boxes you want.

Note The settings displayed in the wizard are from administration, *.adm files, that come with the IEAK. If you are familiar with *.adm files, you can use the wizard to set the policies and restrictions you have set up in your own .adm files by clicking Import.
