British Grand Prix - Silverstone Silverstone Circuit - 61 Laps The home of British motor sport has changed constantly over the years to keep up with safety requirements and changes in F1 technology. Silverstone is very demanding on both the cars and drivers. High speed corners such as Becketts remain a favourite with many but the twisty Luffield section is not so popular. Top speed is more important than handling; the cars may reach speeds of 190 MPH on the straights leading to both Copse and Stowe. With low downforce the twisty Luffield section is difficult as the cars feel very twitchy.
