Mozilla
1.7.3 |
Mozilla
1.7.3 Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Linux
Mozilla continues to grow in popularity
and this updated version will help iron out some bugs
found since the initial release. Netscape is built using
Mozilla, but at 12MB, Mozilla
may be more attractive to users who want a simple browser
without all of the add-ons.

blocking and a number of other seamless innovations, Mozilla

Thunderbird 0.8 |
Mozilla
Thunderbird 0.8 Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP and Linux
Thunderbird 0.8
is Mozilla's next generation email client. Thunderbird
such features as intelligent spam filters, a built-in
spell checker, extension support, and much more.
Upgraders: DO NOT install Mozilla Thunderbird into a directory containing program files from a previous version. Overwriting files from a previous release WILL cause problems. To re-use the directory of a previous install, the directory must be deleted and recreated, emptied, moved, or renamed.
The program directory does not contain profile information; any existing accounts, account settings, options, email, and news messages will remain intact. This release does not require changes to your profile to function properly.

Opera
7.54 |
Opera
7.54 Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP
Tired
of bloated web browsers? Opera is smaller than Netscape
and Internet Explorer, yet it has some neat features the
others are missing. Chief among these is the ability to
open multiple windows, even at startup, without running
out of memory.
You
can zoom in and out of pages, as you would in Word or
Excel documents. The browser includes a newsreader, so
you can seamlessly keep abreast of your favourite newsgroups.
And the browser lets you navigate entirely with your keyboard,
which can speed up your surfing — not to mention
give you the appearance of a hip, happening web surfer
who can adapt to command-line programs. Because of its
low memory usage and relatively small footprint, Opera
is particularly useful on older PCs
