Hitting Into the Water
It will happen -- you'll see your ball drop into a water hazard. When it does, you have several options. If you have set up your game to allow for Rehits or Mulligans, you may select either one and play the shot over again.
Or you can take a "drop." When your ball hits the water, you'll see that the word DROP in the Results box finally is highlighted.
If you click on DROP, your cursor will become a golf ball on a tee. Move the cursor until you find a place on solid ground where you'd like to place your ball, then click. Legal spots are those along the line to the hole -- and a white line will appear on your course to help you pinpoint the location. If the spot you chose is not a legal one, you'll hear an irritating beep and will have to try another spot. As soon as you click on a legal spot, you'll quickly be set up to take a shot and be on your way.
Taking a drop is expensive. It will cost you two strokes.
