The Game Window
The Game Window is where everything happens. It is where the golf game takes place.
The most important feature of the Game Window is the Golfer. He or she will be standing in the center of the window, cool, calm and ready to swing at a moment's notice. The golf course is in the window also, and though you can only see part of it now, you'll find out how you can walk around all over the links.
Other important features of the Game Window are the Toolbar, the Movement Control and the Swing Indicator. The Game Window can be enlarged to any size up to the size of the dark green Background Window.
The Background Window
The Background Window is the dark green fringe behind the Game Window. It serves as a "holding area" for other windows that you might want to keep open (e.g., the Scorecard or other views of a shot). The Background Window allows you to have other windows open without covering up any part of the important Game Window.
It's up to you to decide what to place on the Background Window. And it's not required that you use it at all. Some people prefer to hide the fringe altogether by maximizing the Game Window. It's your game -- you make the call.
The View Windows
Resizing the Windows
The Game Window, the Background Window and the View Windows behave much like any other Windows 95 window, meaning that they can be easily resized.
To change the size of the Game Window, move the mouse pointer to either an edge or a corner of the window. The pointer should change from a single arrow to a double-headed arrow. Then drag (click and hold) the edge or the corner, pulling it out for a larger size or pushing it toward the center of the window to make it smaller.
There are two limitations for resizing the windows. The first is that you can only make the Game Window as large as the Background Window. If you want the Game Window to be full screen, first you must resize the Background Window to full screen. The second limitation is that you cannot shrink the Game Window down too far. When you reach the minimum size, you'll find that the Game Window no longer shrinks.
Moving Things Around
You can move the view windows around your screen. Just click on the text at the top-left corner (the title of the view window) and drag the window to any spot in the Game Window or on the fringe.
You can also move the Swing Indicator and Movement Control. To move the Swing Indicator, click on the text at the top and drag it anywhere within the Game Window. When you have the Movement Control showing (via the Show button in the Toolbar) it will automatically move to the active window on your screen if that window supports the Movement Control (Pin View and Landing View). To move the Movement Control within a window, click and hold on the ball in its middle until you see a four-headed arrow. Then drag it where you want it.
